In-app warnings are incomplete or unavailable. Check official warnings before travel: Met Éireann · UK Met Office (Northern Ireland). No in-app warning is not an all-clear.

GOOD DECISIONS START WITH GOOD SOURCES

The bigger picture.

A little transparency about what’s behind the water.

IRELAND’S NATIONAL METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE

Met Éireann

Integrated weather and warning source. Coverage and freshness vary; confirm official warnings directly before travelling.

OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS

OPW · waterlevel.ie

Integrated gauge observations. A nearest station is context, not the exact water level or safe passage at a mark.

OPEN WEATHER DATA

Open-Meteo

Weather and marine forecast integration. Forecast availability varies; commercial entitlement and provider limits require confirmation before general release.

IRELAND’S MARINE MAPPING PROGRAMME

INFOMAR / GSI / Marine Institute

Marine Institute observations support tide context. INFOMAR seabed/bathymetry layers are planned, not a verified navigation layer in this release.

FISHERIES, ACCESS & CONSERVATION

Inland Fisheries Ireland

Source for the per-mark Licence & rules section — national rules and authority links; exact-water licence, permit and access requirements are not verified and links to the IFI permit shop and current byelaws — and the 24-hour reporting line (0818 34 74 24) that Report-it routes you to. Rules change: always confirm on the IFI site before you fish.

Biodiversity records — Ireland

National Biodiversity Data Centre

Where invasive-species records belong. Report-it hands you a ready summary and a direct link to the NBDC records portal for invasive sightings.

GLOBAL EMPIRICAL OCEAN TIDE MODEL

EOT20 · DGFI-TUM

Intended tide-model attribution. No EOT20 model is connected. Marine Institute gauge observations and estimated tide turns are separate, bounded context — not official tide predictions for every mark.

Reuse rights & source dates

Reviewed 2026-10-28. These are dataset-specific terms, not permission to copy unrelated satellite imagery, photos, logos or PDF artwork. Waterways Ireland guides remain link-out only while reuse rights are unconfirmed.

Inland Fisheries Ireland — National Shore Angling Marks

CC-BY-4.0. Attribute the named dataset, link the licence and indicate changes. This does not clear unrelated imagery or verify access/current conditions.

Catalogue/item/service edit dates are metadata freshness, not per-feature reassessment or observation timestamps.

Attribution: Source: Inland Fisheries Ireland, National Shore Angling Marks; CC BY 4.0; include dataset URL, source assessment date, retrieval date and changes made. This is a recommended implementation string, not a verbatim prescribed IFI formula.

CC-BY-4.0. Attribute the named dataset, link the licence and indicate changes. This does not clear unrelated imagery or verify access/current conditions. Buoys are instrument stations: retain station, observation time, units and distance; catalogue updates are not observation times.

Download the source-rights review · Inspect all 266 raw source-taxon dispositions. Group labels, uncertain taxa and non-fish results remain source history, not invented species identities or new fishing permissions.

The final call is always yours.

A fishing outlook is not a safety assessment, navigation tool, permission to fish or confirmation that a season is open. Check local conditions, access permissions, licences and current regulations. Wear appropriate safety equipment and never fish exposed marks in dangerous conditions.

Spot imagery: Esri World Imagery satellite tiles, centred on each mark’s coordinates — an aerial view of the water, not a ground photograph. Pay-fishery pages use the same aerial imagery, labelled on the page.

Tactics library: every entry is written from public Inland Fisheries Ireland and NCFFI guidance and established Irish angling practice, with its source printed on the card. Nothing in the library is scraped from other apps.

Photo fish identification: a computer-vision suggestion limited to known Irish angling species. Photos are processed in memory and never retained. Match scores rank candidates; they are not probabilities.

Offline mode caches your saved waters, their verdicts and the safety page on your device. Cached data can be incomplete or stale: check dates and official sources rather than treating a cached page as live conditions. Map tiles are not cached — offline maps are not part of this release.

Conditions display: the per-mark conditions strip (wind, swell, sea temperature, pressure, tide) is the same live telemetry the verdicts use — Open-Meteo weather and marine feeds, OPW river gauges, Marine Institute tides — shown where available. Source observations, collection times and forecast valid times differ; no all-mark freshness guarantee is made. Angler condition reports are water-level only, never pin-level: a short line of text plus a condition tag, no usernames, one per angler per water, expiring after 7 days.
